Bloom Outreach Program

About the Program

The Bloom Outreach Program is run by the Bloom Youth Committee, and is one of the Bloom Education Fund's major projects. The program’s goals are twofold: First, to help non-English speaking students from disadvantaged families improve their English. Second, to facilitate cultural exchange between teenagers with different cultures and backgrounds. Many of our tutors choose to continue their relationships with their students through our summer camps.  Our program serves as a way to connect students with tutors and achieve a common goal: to improve education for all.

Our Lessons

Our lessons take place via 1-on-1 online classrooms (cameras and mics always on!) in three time slots across the week. Each week, our tutors teach one hour of English, following a curriculum designed by the Lesson Planning Team of the Bloom Youth Committee, with different options of difficulty depending on the students' English level. Tutors also run a range of societies each week. There are currently 8 available societies, and tutors are free to create a society on any topic they wish!

Our Stuents

Our students are from under-resourced regions in rural China, where there are fewer educational opportunities available to them. However, they are all dedicated, eager, and promising people. That’s why we know that with Bloom Outreach Program’s help, we are making a positive difference in their lives. We are proud to teach and learn from them.

Our Tutors

Currently, our team consists of 60+ tutors in 5 different countries. Through an interview process, we make sure that our team consists of self-motivated, committed, and responsible tutors. Our tutors are driven by an enthusiasm to teach and help. If you become a tutor, you will teach for one hour a week, attend or run a society, attend the Bloom Youth Committee's community events, and reflect on your tutoring experiences.
