Bloom Youth Committee

The Bloom Youth Committee is a team of students that works closely with the leaders of the Bloom Education Fund to help ensure that the Fund has student inputs when designing their projects. At the same time, the Youth Committee helps run a number of online programs and events, ensuring that Bloom's beneficiaries are able to access the same educational opportunities offered by Bloom's in-person events all throughout the year. Founded in 2017 as the Bloom Admin Team, the Bloom Youth Committee is now made up of 36 members from 5 countries around the world. The Youth Committee is organised into 5 departments, and a detailed organisation chart is displayed below.

The main job of the Youth Committee is to run the Bloom Outreach Program. This is one of the Bloom Education Fund's major projects. The program’s goals are twofold: First, to help non-English speaking students from disadvantaged families improve their English. Second, to facilitate cultural exchange between teenagers with different cultures and backgrounds. To find out more, please go to the program's dedicated page.

The Bloom Youth Committee also runs special events to encourage a closer connection between our students and our tutors. These include the Bloom Sales Competition, the upcoming Bloom Speech Competition, as well as various guest lectures, and festival celebrations. Please see the 'Events' page for more information!

Prior to the 2024-2025 academic year, the Youth Committee was led by a single Global Leader, who would oversee the 5 departments, and be in constant contact with the Bloom Education Fund's adult leaders to report on the Youth Committee's work. With the Youth Committee growing drastically in size, we now have a group of 4 leaders from 3 continents, to ensure that the Youth Committee is active around the clock. These leaders are subsequently the leaders of the Community Development Committee, who are responsible for planning the Youth Committee's community events, as well as planning the overall future of the Youth Committee. This year, the leaders are Henry Ng (Advisor, UK/HK), Daniel Chen (US), Lucas Milligan (UK), and Chloe Li (China).
